2O24 • UNKNOWN - 9 Series

Exploring the things UNKNOWN takes the viewer into a blue filmed montage of New Zealand's quiet moments of anticipation making you feel very much alive in a land of isolation: Standing in front of strange, magical trees that seem to stare out at you. The hesitated moment before a 'Hare in the Headlights' realizes it needs to run. The buzz of electricity that moves through the land from shearing sheep, to the wires that connect the houses to the grid.

Huge parts of New Zealand have never been painted or recorded artistically in the same way other countries have, yet there is something familiar about the scenes depicted. Should we recognise them? or will they remain forever UNKNOWN? What is UNKNOWN about New Zealand is soon to be uncovered. 

A series of 9 paintings that combined form one greater image. 

Each painting was created separately from one another, but brought together after completion.
